昨年の11月に渋谷WWWで行われたレコ初イベントでメンバーの産休を機に奥渋谷系バンド「ラヴ・ミー・テンダー」が活動休止したのは、僕らの記憶に新しい。
レコ発タイトルの～また逢う日まで～の通り、僕らの前から忽然と姿を消してしまった。
野田努氏が「ラヴ・ミー・テンダーは、スペース３のドラッギーなファンタジーとそのパロディ、あるいは地下に潜ったサマー・オブ・ラヴとドリーム・ポップとのあいだで鳴っている。」と語ったが、この日のライブはまさに「サマー・オブ・ラヴとドリーム・ポップ」を体現していた。フロアでダンスする大勢の怪しげな人々はどこからか湧き出してくるのか、ケルアックの「地下街の人々」をそのまま現代の日本におきかえたらこんな感じなんじゃないだろうか。
そんな「地下街の人々」を浮遊させて、まばゆく光るアーバンでサイケなシティポップ。
キラキラと抒情的な音に乗せ、～また逢う日まで～、彼らがそう呟き、渋谷の夜は更けていった。
「LOVE ME TENDERのいない朝。東京はエスプリをひとつ失ったのだ。」高木壮太氏がツイッターで語ったように、あのライブを見ていた誰もが次の日の朝、満員電車に揺られながらそう思ったに違いない。
1か月後、そんなラブミーテンダー残党とSTIMのメンバーが結成した新バンド「キリミソ」が出来たと聞き、次は一体どんなキラキラした音楽を聴くことが出来るのだろう、と僕は胸を躍らせた。
先月、ようやく中野Heavysickにて初めてキリミソのライブを見ることが出来たのだが、僕はまた彼らが東京に戻ってきてくれたことを実感し、とても胸がいっぱいになった。
バートバカラック大先生の「close to you」のカバー、彼らがやってよくないはずがない。
そんなクールでアーバンなキリミソの兄さんたちを、男臭くて泥臭くてうだつの上がらぬ代表思い出野郎が必死で迎え撃ちます！
